金理有は、1万年以上前に日本に存在した世界的にも最古とされる縄文土器に憧れその祭祀的な意味合いを現代に置き換えて追及している作家である。
作品は、メタリックな光沢のある釉薬がかかり縄文を意識したと思われる直線的な彫り込みで覆われている。
縄文的でもあるがなにかサイエンス・フィクション的でもあり、デジタル社会である現代を強く意識させる作品は、まさに時代を超えた「呪物」であり超自然的な力や呪いを感じさせる。

Kim Riyoo is an artist who admires Jomon pottery, which is said to be the oldest in the world and existed in Japan over 10,000 years ago, and explores its ritual significance in a modern context.
Her works are coated with a shiny metallic glaze and covered with linear carvings that appear to be a reference to the Jomon period.
While reminiscent of the Jomon period, her works also have a science fiction-like quality, and are strongly conscious of our modern digital society. They are truly timeless "cursed objects" that evoke the feeling of supernatural power or a curse.
